Driving and medical conditions.
The NIDirect website link below gives details about driving with certain medical conditions and when DVA need to be informed and when they don't.

The DVLA link below lists health conditions that may have to be notified to them. They stress that drivers should seek a doctor’s advice to see if a condition will affect driving.
A driving licence must be surrendered to DVA if your doctor tells a driver to stop driving or if they don’t meet the required standards for driving because of their medical condition.
Surrendering their licence voluntarily may mean they can start driving again sooner.

The DVLA has published an Assessing Fitness to Drive – a Guide for Medical Professionals which is very detailed and a good reference book for those managing driving risk. It can be accessed below.
